Each year the Canadian Online Publishing Awards celebrates the best in Canadian media content, and Seekers is excited to announce we are a finalist in two categories! 

Finalist: Best Multicultural Story (consumer magazine)

Witsuwit'en youth, participating in programs at Hudson Bay Mountain Resort, were featured in the SnowSeekers.ca story.

In Smithers, BC, a cultural shift is afoot at Hudson Bay Mountain Resort. SnowSeekers.ca shared the story of how Witsuwit'en culture and community is being recognized through collaborative programs with the resort, including youth programs and language and cultural recognition efforts on hill, and how these efforts affect the local community. Finalist: Best Video Content

Saya Masso, director of lands and resources with Tla-o-qiu-aht First Nations, stands on the beach at tin wis (near the town of Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island).

Under the guidance of the Tla-o-qui-aht Nation, Seekers co-produced a video that shares a brief history of the Nation. From the Battle of the Tonquin to the War of the Woods, the Indigenous communities here have been leaders in cultural and environmental preservation in Canada now for centuries.
